Laser Hair Removal

When to consider laser hair removal

  • If you have unwanted facial or body hair that makes you feel self-conscious or limits your ability to wear certain types of clothing.
  • If you have dark hair to be treated and have a fair skin tone.
  • If you are looking for an alternative to waxing, electrolysis, shaving, or bleaching.

How laser hair removal works
A concentrated wavelength of light is aimed at the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment within the hair shaft, ultimately damaging the follicle enough to damage the growth. Laser hair removal treatments give permanent hair reduction anywhere from several months to years.  As with most procedures, results differ widely from person to person.

How painful is hair removal?
Hair removal lasers are equipped with a cooling device that helps reduce the discomfort and protect the top layer of skin from the heat. In addition, a topical numbing agent may be used to desensitize the treatment area. We also recommend taking an Ibuprofen prior to treatment in order to help mitigate the pain, particularly if you have sensitive skin.
